SO MUCH HAPPENS IN DREAMS IN THE MONAS NOVELS – HERE’S WHY

When you’re dreaming, do you often dream that you’re speaking with another person? You may never discuss it, but it could be that you actually are talking with that person.
Dream telepathy isn’t a new idea, but it’s one that may have just received some scientific credentials.
“A wealth of anecdotal and clinical material exist which supports the possibility of telepathic effects occurring in dreams,” says Stanley Krippner, professor of psychology at Saybrook University in California. “However, an experimental approach to the topic did not become possible until psycho physiological laboratory technology became available. It was discovered that sleeping research participants awakened from periods of rapid eye movement (REM) activity were frequently able to recall dream episodes.”
“As a result, it was possible to request a “telepathic receiver” to attempt dreaming about a target stimulus that was being focused on in a distant location from a “telepathic sender,” he continued.
In the 1960’s, Mantague Ullman, MD, conducted experiments at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn to test the idea that people can be primed to dream about certain material. In essence, that they could choose what they dream about before they go to sleep. The next step was to see if people could control messages being sent to one another.
In these experiments, there was a sender and a receiver. They would meet in the lab briefly before being put in separate rooms to sleep. The sender had an envelope waiting for them in the room that would contain a message, like a picture or a drawing. The receivers were awoken shortly after REM sleep began so researchers could report their dreams.
One of the more memorable sessions involved an art print called “School of Dance,” depicting several young women in a dance class. The receiver woke and said:
“I was in a class made up of maybe half a dozen people, it felt like a school,” and “There was one little girl that was trying to dance with me.”
What could explain something like this? Well, quantum physics could be the culprit. Consider two electrons created together. If you sent one to one side of the universe, the other will respond instantly, regardless of their distance. This could be how everything is connected, or as Einstein called it, “spooky actions at a distance.”
It’s hard to know for sure. More studies are needed. But science may have figured out something very interesting there.
